Play Productions is an independent producer making original UK Garage, Grime, Hip Hop, Jungle, Drum & Bass and whatever other weird electronic rabbit hole I disappear down at 2am.

It all started at around eleven years old with a pair of bedroom turntables and an unhealthy obsession with underground music. By my mid-teens I was part of a local UK Garage crew, putting together mixtapes before inevitably deciding I should probably grab a microphone and become an MC as well. That somehow turned into playing clubs from the age of seventeen, which teaches you very quickly what actually works when there's a real crowd standing in front of you... and what absolutely doesn't.

These days the microphone's taken a bit of a back seat while the production has taken over. Most of my time is spent writing, producing, mixing and mastering original music, constantly chasing that feeling when a track finally clicks and makes the stupid number of hours spent tweaking a snare feel completely justified.

I'm not interested in pumping out hundreds of forgettable tracks just to feed an algorithm. I'd rather spend weeks obsessing over one tune until it feels right. Every release is built from scratch, mixed with care, mastered properly and made to hit whether you're listening through headphones, in the car or on a club system.

Whether it's original releases, collaborations or mixing and mastering for other artists, the goal's always the same: make music I'd genuinely want to hear myself.
